Imfolozi Outrun

The STIHL iMfolozi Outrun is a unique two-day trail running event held within the Hluhluwe Imfolozi Game Reserve, South Africa's oldest, offering a raw and wild experience through Big 5 territory. Participants, typically in teams of two for safety, navigate management and animal trails over two days, with distances varying around 13-19km per day. The event prioritizes safety with wildlife officials present and aims to raise funds for the reserve's conservation efforts, specifically ranger upliftment and community education.

Beyond the running, the Outrun provides an immersive bushveld experience with potential wildlife encounters and a focus on conservation awareness. The entry fee usually covers park access, meals, and an event garment, while accommodation is separate. Scheduled for August 30th to September 1st, 2025, the event combines the challenge of trail running with the extraordinary opportunity to traverse a renowned game reserve, all while contributing to its preservation.
