Overview:
This easy-going tour takes care of all the logistics for you, so you can kick back, relax and enjoy the safari of a lifetime. Guests will be collected from OR Tambo airport or pre-arranged lodges in Johannesburg district. Guests will then be transferred through to Tremisana game lodge (or similar) situated within the Balule private game reserve.
The tour includes transfers in an air-conditioned tour vehicle to and from Tremisana game lodge (or similar), 2 Sunset safari game drives and a morning game drive with an enthusiastic, passionate safari guide within Balule game reserve. A gorgeous 4-hour safari bush walk with an armed safari guide along the banks of the lush olifants river. A full day safari experience within the Kruger national park. A true African styled dinner beneath the star lit night skies at the famous marula tree boma and a scenic drive of the panoramic route on our return journey back to Johannesburg.

The game lodge is situated within the beautiful Balule Private game Reserve. Balule is a protected wildlife conservation area that falls within the Greater Kruger region. Balule originally formed part of several separate fenced game farms. In the early 1990’s, landowners decided to remove all the fences separating their properties in aid of conservation. Thus, allowing game to roam freely between Balule and the Kruger National Park. Balule is 23 000 square kilometres of untouched bushveld that stretches along the banks of the Olifant’s river. The game lodge was a founding member of the Balule private game reserve.
Each Thatched chalet is air-conditioned and fully equipped for guests’ contentment and convenience.
Tremisana game lodge is situated less than an hour’s drive from Kruger national park. (Accommodation might vary depending on availability)
4 Day Kruger Park Tour Information and Facts
DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG – GREATER KRUGER ( 5 Hours travelling approximately 442 Kilometers )
You will be collected at the pick-up point by your guide in an air conditioned vehicle. Our journey begins in an easterly direction, as we leave the rush of the city behind us and make our way to the beautiful Balule game reserve, situated in the Greater Kruger area. We aim to arrive at our accommodation at mid-day. There is ample time to check-in and freshen up or have a cool down dip in the pool, before our late afternoon 3 hour sunset safari game drive in the Balule reserve. As the Sun begins to drop behind the horizon, we slowly make our way to the famous Marula Tree boma situated in the heart of the bushveld, beneath the African night sky surrounded by the calls of the African bush nightlife for a dining experience of a lifetime.

DAY 2: GREATER KRUGER PARK
Following an early morning wake up call, for a typical south African early riser’s breakfast of hot beverages and rusks. We jump onto a safari vehicle and make our way to a remote corner of the Balule Reserve for an exciting 4-hour bush walk along the lush Olifant’s river with an armed safari guide. As we leave our comfort zone and dive deep into the sounds and sights of the African bush, always keeping a keen eye for tracks and signs of the big 5! Whilst learning about the flora and fauna often missed when in a vehicle.
On our return to our lodge, a hearty late breakfast and refreshments awaits us.
There is time to relax around the lodge. Late afternoon we depart for another thrilling sunset safari game drive.

DAY 3: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK
This day kicks off bright and early with hot beverages and rusks before departing for the much-anticipated full day safari tour of the world renowned Kruger national park. We enter the park through Orpen gate. We will spend the day exploring the upper South and central areas of the park. As the heat of the African sun sets in, we will have a lunch stop (own expense) at one of the popular Kruger park rest camp’s and will return to the lodge late afternoon to freshen up for dinner.

DAY 4: GREATER KRUGER TO JOHANNESBURG VIA PANORAMA ROUTE
Following an early morning wake up call, we will join our safari guide for a last safari game drive In the Balule game reserve. A hearty breakfast awaits us on our return to the lodge. As we bid the bushveld a farewell and hit the road, we will be taking the scenic route back to Johannesburg via the panorama route. Arriving in Johannesburg late afternoon.
Includes: Transfer back to Johannesburg, morning game drive, Panorama route and Breakfast

What to bring:
Please try to keep your luggage to a minimum, also bearing in mind that most airlines impose a 20kg limit. Bring a soft backpack or rucksack along with a smaller day bag with a mixture of lightweight and warm clothing for the evenings and early morning game drives.
Bedding is provided. Therefore, you will not need a sleeping bag or extra pillow.
As in travelling anywhere in the world, we recommended you pack a small torch or headlamp, mosquito spray and a wallet or pouch with all your personal papers and cash that can be easily hidden on you in person or in your carry on day bag. Try to avoid bringing unnecessary valuables just for peace of mind.
A torch or head lamp will always come in handy.
Mosquito repellent is always great to have, especially in the summer months.
Sunscreen and a hat.
Comfortable walking shoes and swim wear for walking or swimming.
Bring a phone charger and get hold of a South African two pin plug socket for your charger.
Introduction To Kruger National Park safari.
Kruger National Park is one of the largest game reserves in the World, conserving nature since 1926. Not only is it the biggest, Kruger National Park is also the most iconic game reserve in Africa. Kruger Park covers an astonishing 2.1 million hectares, stretched across 2 of South Africa’s 9 provinces; namely Limpopo and Mpumalanga. Kruger National Park has nine main gates which are used as access to the many different camps.
Location of Kruger National Park.
Kruger National Park is located in the north-east end of South Africa. 2 rivers act as the natural borders of Kruger. To the North, we have the Limpopo River, and to the South, we have the Crocodile River. To the east of Kruger National Park. we have the Lebombo Mountain range which separates Kruger from Mozambique. The Western border runs parallel to the park stretching around 65km’s. The highest point of Kruger National Park is in the east, 840m above sea level. This hill is known as Khandzalive.

The climate of the Kruger National Park is subtropical, meaning summer days are often very hot with temperatures reaching 38 degrees Celsius. Kruger’s rainy season falls from September to May. It is said that winter is the best time to join a Kruger National Park safari for various reasons. Viewing wildlife is more rewarding as the vegetation is sparser and animals are drawn to the waterholes to drink every morning and evening.

Birds – There are 517 species of birds found in the Kruger National Park. Ever heard of the big-six birds? They are the martial eagle, lappet-faced vulture, kori bustard, ground hornbill, saddle-billed stork and the Pel’s fishing owl.
Mammals – All of the big 5 can be located in the Kruger National Park, which also plays host to more species of large mammals than any other nature reserve in Africa which an astonishing 147 species. Kruger National Park protects a few packs of the endangered African wild dog of which there are thought to be only about 400 in the whole of South Africa.
Reptiles – Kruger National Park has an amazing 114 species of reptile, including Puff Adder, Black Mamba and more than 4000 crocodiles
